A Midsummer Night’s Dream has 21 named characters as well as various other small roles, such as fairy servants to Titania. The characters in the play can be broken up into four groups; The Athenian, who are the authoritative characters in the court of Athens, The Lovers, who are Athenians who are lead by their desires to escape from the city, The Mechanicals, who are lower-class ‘workmen’ from Athens, and The Fairies, who are a omniscient and magical force in the forest.

Finding this overview over the characters is great, as I do exactly this as preparation before I go and see a Shakespeare play. As I recently made myself unpopular by sending an open letter to a commercial audio play producer in Germany for not providing a simple cast list and production credits, not just the commercial bit of ” with the German voices of Hollywood star X, Y or Z”, it would be much appreciated if you could simply list all creative as well, e. g. in brackets. Particular with Shakespeare plays it helps a lot when one can match names & faces with the characters straight away.
And it shows the due respect to all members of an ensemble, not just the stars.
I hope you keep the documentation accessible in an archive.
    Thanks !
